2010  Hyundai Elantra 1.6 DOHC  Transmission  Automatic Transaxle  P0712 Transaxle Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Circuit

Terminal and Connector Inspection 1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage. 2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. 3. Has a problem been found? YES 1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure NO 1) Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure Auto Repair and Study Guide , Auto Repai Signal Circuit Inspection 1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF". 2. Disconnect the "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" connector 3. Measure the voltage between terminal "5" of the "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" harness connector and chassis ground. A. Specification : Approx. 5 V 4. Is voltage within specifications ? YES 1) Go to "Component Inspection" procedure NO 1) Check for short to ground in harness.
