How to Check the Automatic Transmission Hold in 3rd Gear
Model: Hyundai Santa Fe
Year Model: 2004
Fuel: Diesel
Displacement: 2000cc
Subject: ATM 3rd Gear Hold – Solenoid Valve
1) Condition
  1. Automatic transaxle 3rd gear hold during driving.
  2. Excessive shock shifting when shifting into the "’R’ position.
2) Cause
  1. Solenoid valve connector(# 10 pins) is not fitted completely.
3) Diagnosis
  1. Scan tool check
    = Diagnostic trouble code
    1) P0703 = LR Solenoid valve short/ open circuit(LR-low & reverse)
    2) P0743 = DCC Solenoid valve short/open circuit (DCC – Damper clutch control.
  2. Inspect the solenoid valve power supply wiring(ATM: Automatic transmission).
    = The solenoid valve connector pin has not been fitted completely.
  3. # 10 terminal does not supply power voltage to the solenoid valve.
4) Repair Guides
  1. Repair the solenoid valve connector.
